Common questions
QRBeam transfers files offline, but the initial package installation still requires internet access.
01The qrbeam command is missing+
Reopen your terminal. Python users can run python3 -m pip show qrbeam; Node.js users can run npm list --global qrbeam to check the installation.
02The browser did not open+
Open the local address shown in the terminal, usually http://127.0.0.1:8765. You can also rerun without --no-open.
03The port is already in use+
Choose another port, for example qrbeam send FILE --port 8766. The player still listens locally only.
04Scanning is slow or unstable+
Use the default safe profile, enter full screen, raise display brightness, avoid glare, and hold the phone steady.
05The transfer never completes+
The stream loops so missing frames can arrive on the next pass. Keep the app in front; restart and move closer if progress remains stuck.
06A file cannot be sent+
Make sure it exists and is no larger than 5 MiB. The free iPhone tier may also limit files to 1 MiB and one transfer per day.
