Scope
This policy covers the QRBeam iOS app, Python and Node.js command-line senders, and this website. Third-party package repositories, the Apple App Store, and external links may apply their own policies.
Files and QR codes
Selected files are processed locally. The computer sender starts its player only on 127.0.0.1 and does not upload files or QR frames to a QRBeam server. The receiver assembles files on-device and verifies integrity with CRC32 and SHA-256.
Camera
The iOS app requests camera access only to scan QRBeam animated codes. QRBeam does not upload camera footage or use it for identification, advertising, or analytics.
Local data
The app may store daily free-send counts, settings, and membership status on-device. Received files are written only when you save or share them. QRBeam cannot recover files after you delete them or the app.
Subscriptions
Apple StoreKit handles purchases and restoration. QRBeam reads the subscription status needed to provide benefits but does not receive or store full card details. Apple processes payment data under its own policy.
Website data
This site currently has no accounts, advertising, behavior analytics, or marketing cookies. The hosting provider may process standard request information such as IP address, browser type, and access time for security and reliability.
Security boundary
QRBeam verifies file integrity, but the current protocol does not provide end-to-end encryption. Transfer only files you are authorized to handle and follow your organization’s security requirements.
